PHP Scripts? Anyone know of a website that has free php scripts? All the ones ive found you have to download them and when i do that the file doesnt work.
Where can I find good free php scripts and beginners tutorials? I have some experience with HTML, but would like to learn to use php for my website. I've searched for php scripts and tutorials, but all I can find is either too advanced, or the websites are just full of advertising.

Just upgraded PHP, and now scripts are not working.? I just upgraded to the latest version of PHP by switching to a new dedicated server. Several of my websites have login PHP scripts. These no longer work. It appears that the variables are not being passed from the form to the php script. Is there some simple way to fix this? was running 4.3.2 now 5.1.4 vBulletin works, but my own scripts have bugs, the major one being an inability to pass variables from a form (html page) to a php script.

I have seen scripts which run in this format index.php/pack/?id=1 where it is like a folder inside a php file ? how can u program it like this and how does it work ? apache rewrite ? if so can any body give me an example ? How do I find out which PHP scripts are slowing down my system? I am a PHP newcomer and I'm writing a lot of scripts. Over this same time, I've seen sluggish performance from time to time with pages loading on my site. I thought it was my host at fault, but now I'm thinking maybe some of my practice scripts are running in the background without me knowing it, eating up bandwidth??? Is there a php command or function that I can use to find out what scripts of mine are currently running on the server side -- or is their some command I can give to stop any and all scripts of mine out there that may be caught in an infinite loop? Again, I'm thinking that some bad practice scripts of mine are slowing down my system performance because they're struggling to run in the background -- but I need to know how to check this. I've read a little about so-called "profilers" that seem to be for this purpose, but they all seem rather expensive and in any case, I haven't found any that say they'll work with a Mac. Thanks

Trying to test PHP scripts but weird error message comes up? Okay, just figuring out PHP, SQL, Apache. I have it all running right, localhost is all set up. I have made a bunch of PHP files and I'm trying to test a simple user registration page. Everytime I fill out the information (name, email, password, etc.) I click the button "register me" and a box pops up asking me to open the associated PHP file. Why? Why wouldnt the PHP script just run and create the user registration in the database? It always asks me if I want to open or save the PHP file. Can e-mail harvesters read PHP scripts? I am setting up my personal Web site and I'd like to have a form that will e-mail me when someone enters info and submits. where can i find good php scripts? actually i know the basics of web programming, however when it comes to the syntax etc of a particular PL, i get confused, can you recommend me a good site where i can find all the info i need? as well as some goodie scripts that i can play with? thanks. :)
passing variables in php/login scripts? I know many people have probably asked similar things. But I think my question is a bit different. I'm new to php and trying to make a login script for a webpage.. Basically I have a form that takes in username/password and the submit goes to loginscript.php loginscript has no outputs it just processes the query for login and stuff like that and then uses header("Location:asdfafaa") to redirect back to the page where the user logged in. I need to know how to pass variables (not in the url). I want to have hidden variables that travel around with the user as they travel around my site. The variables I want are the Username and sessionid. I thought possibly i could use $_post but I cant figure it out. Can anyone explain to me how this usually done? Is there a better way that I'm not thinking about? If anyone knows any tutorials on php login for interactive websites that would be great.
