How do I transfer a font from a MAC into may PC? The font is shown as a ffl (?) file.?

I have a PC with Office 2003 installed. I had to make a sign in Publisher and I used a font called Cooper Black, from the font list. After I made the sign I saved it. Some time after that, I had to reformat my computer. And afterward, I could not open the file using Cooper Back, as it had disappeared from the list. I had to make a substitute font. Doing some research, I found that Apple computers have the font in them. I have no idea how the font installed itself into my computer, nor how to re-install it. My friend who has a Mac, tried to email me the font, but it shows up as a dat.exe file, and I am unable to open it. I went to an Apple store and using their computer, I also tried to email me the font. On a Mac, the font is shown as a ffl (file?). I did download a similar font, but the differences are enough that the sign isn't the same. Does anyone have any ideas?
