Is there a free and easy program to create websites? Something simple and intutive?

- No. But there are templates available. Readymade stuff that you just type stuff into and upload to the server Or Readymade stuff on the web that you do not need to upload. Just use it online and update it there.
- You should get the macromedia package- Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and Flash- if you want a really good website. It'll cost you a pretty penny but it's worth it.
- Take a look at AceHTML Freeware. It has received many awards and I believe it is easy, although I know html programming code as a professional designer so I may not be the best one to advise. It is preconfigured with many features that are common on websites, making it easy to look like a pro. Get the free download (registration may be required but it is totally free) at http://software.visicommedia.com/en/products/acehtmlfreeware/ I also use their FTP software and it is excellent too. If you actually want to "learn the code" I recommend using Arachnophilia which is also free at http://www.arachnoid.com/arachnophilia/ Congratulations on your decision to create your own website!

There are two types of programs you can go for viz stand-alone programs which you have to install and use on a desktop or web-based programs which you can use right from your browser wihout installing anything. There are a lot of free WYSIWYG - what you see is what you get - stand-alone programs that you can install and use such as Microsoft FrontPage and Macromedia Dreamweaver, but these often produce crude-looking websites except you are very experienced and adept at designing websites. Moreover, their templates will hardly satisfy your need for a professional-looking site. I recommend a free web-based application for designing your site such as that provided by GalantHost. When you buy a web hosting package - which is very cheap by the way - you get free PHP scripts that you can install without any programming experience and start using. There are 2 such scripts for building a PHP website and is complete with modern professional-looking templates to give you a great finish. There are also other scripts for content management and other business applications. In addition, there is a free site builder separate from the 34 free scripts that you will find under free bonuses. I recommend you buy a hosting plan for a complete managed web services package.
