- Please clarify: Website design or website creation/programming? Well, I'll just answer both. For design, ie layout of a page, graphics, etc., I would recommend a digital arts degree. Something like this: http://www.cise.ufl.edu/student_services/undergrad/das/ For creation/programming of websites, ie taking a design and turning it into a webpage, I would recommend the basic computer science degree, with a focus on web-based programming languages such as Java, PHP, and ASP.
- There are no degrees, just a course for this. You can learn many packages including MS Frontpage or Macromedia Dreamweaver for designing the page, Adobe Photoshop for graphics, Flash, Image Ready, and more. It all gets put together to create what you want. You might also check courses in E-Commerce, which includes how to put a database into your site.
- computer science
- If I was going to name one, it would be an AS in BS. To give a truthful answer, however, it would be an arts degree, such as "associate of arts in graphic design," "bachelor of arts in multimedia design." Other discipline names you might search with would be "interactive media," "computer graphics", "new media" and "computer aided design."
- Easy question, the answer is: Graphic Design. No, you can't learn about design in Computer Science, Comp. Eng'g, or any technical degree that related to computer. Don't get me wrong, you can't learn does not mean you can't make one. I have a background in Comp. Eng'g, I created a lot of websites, but to tell you the truth, I suck at design. Meanwhile, my GF is a graphic designer, she really know her stuff (design) which helped me a lot in the process of designing (typhography, color selection, layout, etc etc). So, programmer + graphic designer = the bomb!
- The program you want will be called something like this: Interaction Design or HCI (Human Computer Interface)
