What is your favorite website design?
I'm redoing my website, and I need some examples. I'm looking for dark designs that go with my photography, here's an example: http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a178/MBPconcert/ddd-1.jpg Thanks to anyone that helps, I appreciate it VERY MUCH! I think my website right now is pretty irrelevant. But it's www.mbakerphotography.com And no, I am NOT doing my own website. I have hired a professional that needs examples of what I want.

- Are you building the website yourself? A lot of the decision will have to come from your abilities at web design. Even if you find a site you really like do you have the skills to recreate the site? I went to the site suggested in a previous answer. This is NOT your basic html coding. The dynamic objects and flash coding would be a nightmare for someone without extensive technical skills. You need to determine what you want the site to do. Will you sell images...will it have sound.....do you want all the bells and whistles? I'm drawn to simple graphics and simple navigation. I want categories to be easily defined and searched. I don't like to search an image for links. I want it to load fast and look crisp and clean. But that is what i want. What about you? I have enjoyed learning CSS coding and playing with some of features it offers. When I rework my site it will include more of this style but have a more refined look. To see what CSS can do you might want to check out www.strangebanana.com to see how adaptable this coding is. On a base level a background of black or charcoal gray always makes color photographs appear more vivid. The selection of a spot color from your opening photo for your headline and a color a few shades lighter for your rollovers work well together. Good luck.....now I've got to redo my site.
