What is the easiset way to create a font of my handwriting using a graphics tablet for free?

I got a graphics tablet for Christmas. I know my friend made her own handwriting font using a program that Microsoft makes for Tablet PCs and was really easy for her. However this program doesn't work with graphics tablets. What's the easiest way to create a font of my handwriting using one?

  1. The trick is not necessarily the graphics tablet, but the software to take the image you create with the table, scanner, fax machine, etc. and turn it into a font. You can use your tablet or you can even download forms that allow you to write the alphabet on a piece of paper and then scan it in. That way you get the writing into a graphics format that you can manipulate. Before I had a scanner I would put my signature on a piece of paper and fax it to myself. I could then cut the signature out of the fax and past it in documents. As for the software there are a few look and there is a blog post out there that walks through the whole process. http://lifehacker.com/software/diy/geek-to-live--make-your-own-font-206685.php There is also a program out there you can search for called "Your Handwriting II" can converts the image into a font.
